Group Description: The Strategic Shareholder Advisory practice specializes in advising clients with respect to shareholder engagement, corporate governance, ESG, and investor relations matters, within Evercore’s activism and raid defense practice.
What is the position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Analyst for its Strategic Shareholder Advisory practice located in New York, NY.
Primary Responsibilities: The Strategic Shareholder Advisory Analyst will provide value-add analysis and research as part of a specialist team within the Strategic, Defense and Shareholder Advisory team. In this role, the Analyst will create client presentations regarding shareholder engagement, ESG and corporate governance, and track related trends and best practices. The Analyst will help drive corporate governance and shareholder engagement projects, and create related materials for use in client presentations, internal meetings and marketing initiatives. The Analyst will work in a team environment within Evercore’s Strategic, Defense and Shareholder Advisory practice.
Specific Qualifications: The Analyst will be ambitious, self-directed, creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful. The candidate will be passionately interested in finance, ESG and corporate governance and, intellectually-curious and eager to learn. We are seeking an academically accomplished candidate with the ability to multitask and think strategically. This position comes with challenging work and a demanding environment in a rapidly growing firm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- An excellent, team-based attitude
- Relentless work ethic and high energy level
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with CRM systems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Calm under pressure with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Intellectual curiosity and an interest in finance, corporate governance and ESG
- Exceptional judgment and discretion
- Two year commitment required
